Jacobs is currently looking for a Computer Aided Design (CAD) Manager to join our growing team in Houston, TX, who will manage systems and production relating to Computer Aided Design system. You should be a self-motivated professional with experience in this role and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally.
The CAD Manger will be responsible for the setup, configuration, production and management of Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems and plan production, which includes traditional 2D and 3D design systems, Building Information Management systems, and other related technologies. Specific responsibilities include:
Establish and set up project CAD production systems, templates and standards
Administer and supervise Project CAD delivery to relevant standards and process
Maintain CAD compliance and quality
Undertake production of CAD drawings in accordance with relevant drawing standards, work can be developed in a digitally intelligent 3D model environment for drawing generation
Manage and store drawings and other project deliverables in accordance with Jacobs Quality and CAD standards and other requirements
Review drawings in CAD and PDF deliverable formats for compliance
Resolve complex service delivery issues and complaints in an appropriate and timely manner in accordance with policies and procedures
Supervise and manage CAD delivery team in collaboration with wider project team
Mentor and develop design team members
Manage CAD responsibilities with various internal and external teams
Work with Project and Global technology leads regarding technical issues, design/drafting automation, and enhanced efficiency development
Develop, implement, and maintain CAD quality plans and assist in the delivery of large, fast paced, design build packages
Recommend best practices for global and project needs to increase workflow efficiencies
Maintain documentation of all developed and enhanced workflows
Coordinate with IT to solve local and project level problems as it relates to CAD deliverables and project technology needs
Other related duties as may be applicable and required
Minimum 10 years experience with high-end engineering technology related to Civil Infrastructure projects
Minimum of a degree or diploma in engineering or computer science
A certification in a relevant Engineering Tool or accreditation in industry standards an advantage
Significant experience working on projects within one or more AEC disciplines
Extensive experience in, and passionate about, the use and configuration of engineering applications (e.g., 2D/3D CAD, Civil 3D, CAE, Collaboration & Data and information Management)
Experience in Common Datasource Environments
Strong team work and good leadership and motivational capabilities
Excellent understanding of engineering work processes
Self-motivated and results focused, with the ability to work with minimal, remote supervision
Good written and oral communication, particularly English to facilitate working with a team located all over the globe
A fast learner with a strong attention to detail
A problem solving, conceptual thinker and able to work with complex systems
Ability to communicate, train, effect change and implement improvements
Experience with City of Houston, Harris County, HCFD is a plus.
