We are looking for a CAD Drafter, who will be reporting into the Engineering Team. The CAD Drafter is responsible for the drafting techniques to provide support by preparing layouts, detail drawings, sketches, 2D and 3D models, and diagrams for architectural and documentation support in Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Maintenance.
Read and interpret drawings and specifications
Perform accurate field measurements to translate into layout drawings
Create and assist in the production of drawings for design development, fabrication and installation for projects, Quality, Maintenance, and R&D
Use 3D modeling software to create models for design studies
Work closely with Project/Production Engineers, R&D, Quality, and Maintenance in the creation or modification of drawings
Revise drawings for record retention and updating as needed
Reporting structure: Team member will report into the Engineering Team structure, directly working with the Senior Engineer
Degree of autonomy: Driven by project priority from Team Leaders
Geographic scope: Works on projects between all manufacturing sites (nationwide)
Nature and environment: Manufacturing environment
Creativity required in the job: High level of innovation is critical to understand the software tools and create the drawings.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and/or reach for up to 8 hours at a time
Fine motor skills and ability to perform repetitive motions
Ability to effectively communicate technical information
Vision capabilities, including depth perception, attention to detail, and color
It will really make us smile if you have
Knowledge of SmileDirectClub's products and customers
Associates Degree or Degree from two year technical school or 2+ years of experience using CAD
Solid understanding of CAD drafting techniques and terminology
Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks 3D modeling
Minimum of 2 years of CAD experience
Ability to quickly convert information through sketching to a CAD drawing
Ability to accurately measure and record field data/measurements
Are locally based to the Nashville area. No sponsorship available.
Skills and Knowledge:
Self-motivated and organized
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to read and interpret procedures, and regulatory documentation
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel)
Ability to work independently with limited supervisory direction
Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills
Internal Candidates: We will only interview internal candidates with a minimum 12 months of revelant education or 6 months experience in the specified job field.
