We are located in Stratford, CT (USA). This position is 100% onsite.

OBJECTIVE

The CAD Documentation Specialist will generate a foundation of accurate engineering documentation using Solidworks. The position is responsible for converting old drawing formats and creating new 2D and 3D product drawings and models using sound documentation techniques and recognized geometric dimensioning and tolerancing protocols.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recreate and correct old product component, sub-assembly, and final assembly products drawing in Solidworks, and reverse engineer as required.

  • Provide documentation support, as required, for Support Engineering or Product Engineering,

  • Manage proper storage of CAD related files and facilitate engineering change requests

  • Investigate/learn the various product lines and their associated component assemblies, in order to efficiently coordinate the transformation of files.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERTISE AND/OR ABILITIES CONSISTENTLY REQUIRED

  • High School Diploma/GED required; Technical schooling preferred.

  • Intern to 5 years experience

  • Strong working knowledge of Solidworks, or other CAD platform, including part and assembly creation, configuration and design table techniques.

  • Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and industry accepted engineering drawing practices.

  • Ability to convert 2D drawings to a 3D model.

  • Strong ability to configure parts and assemblies using intelligent and efficient modeling practices.

  • Working knowledge of the Solidworks materials library.

  • FEA simulation and motion skills a plus.

  • Adobe Illustrator familiarity a plus.

  • Must be a team player with good communication skills.

  • Must have strong PC skills and the ability to logically and consistently organize and maintain documentation libraries.
