CAD Designer
Creates and maintains product engineering drawings/3D models by collaborating with Engineers to ensure the design intent is properly and completely communicated, in line with CAD guidelines and templates
Contributes to Windchill Change Management and Item Master by:
Managing Change Task by including correct Affected/Resulting objects based on requested
change from PDE
to Product Classification attributes
Communicates effectively with PDE team to resolve technical 3D design issues
Collaborates with PDE team members to ensure that designs meet functional and aesthetic requirements
Produces detailed drawings according to internal drawing standards
Demonstrates a basic knowledge of:
CAD topics related to parameters, custom properties, family tables, and configurations
Read and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
Understanding and application of GD&T
Design intent of Norma product families
Able to solve common issues encountered in daily work
Contributes to lessons learned analysis for future reference in continuous drawing improvements
Contributes to systematic improvements in CAD and/or Windchill PDM
Basic knowledge and application of GD&T
Maintains basic understanding of CAD software developments and design tools to enhance skills and knowledge

CAD Engineer
Fulfills CAD Designer role plus:
Acts as technical contact for PDE with basic engineering knowledge and approaches to design, function, and manufacturing of products. Supports PDE with consulting internal and external stakeholders within the limits of according design guideline(s) and design rule(s).
Supports PDE in the responsiblility for the product/material verification and validation process as required to satisfy the customers' demands and reduce risk for NORMA, including the responsibility to check if the design follows the limits described via the D-FMEA, joins PDE team in D-FMEA sessions and supports PDE with presentating to internal and external stakeholders.
Basic understanding of material application with respect to design intent
Competent in translating (customer/internal) specifications into design proposal
Demonstrates a Fluent knowledge of:
CAD topics related to parameters, custom properties, family tables, and configurations
Read and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

Trains CAD Designers on New/Updated CAD guidelines and templates
(Optional) Prototype Tool Designer
Fulfills CAD Designer or CAD Engineer role plus:
Supports the Plastics/Metals Lab and/or Prototype shop by designing and developing tooling and fixtures required for prototyping and low-volume production
Work closely with PDE and Lab engineers to develop efficient and effective tools that meet the design and quality requirements
Keeps up to date with prototype and serial manufacturing technologies
Knowledgeable in the Design of (1) or more of the following:
Form fixtures for plastic tube routing
Check gauges for in process tube routing
Check gauges for final state of tube routing with connectors, clips, etc…
Radial Load cell fixture for metal clamps
Punch/Die tool to form pockets and grooves in metal clamps
Keeps up to date with prototype and serial manufacturing technologies
(Optional) Simulation Satellite
Fulfills CAD Engineer role plus:
As a Simulation Satellite, joins the simulation team and adheres to established team processes (e.g., KPI - Key Performance Indicator reporting) including supporting local teams with simulation requests, prioritization, complying with quality standards of simulations and reporting.
With support and guidance from simulation team, satellites create, verify and evaluate simulation models. Fully able to operate the used Software.
Numerical simulations are performed, e.g., mechanical non-linear stress and strain calculations, results are interpreted scientifically, and findings are discussed within the team and recorded in the form of comprehensive reports which require final approval from the simulation core team.
Frequent project reviews and reporting with project teams, supervisor, production plants and customers. Actively promotes the benefit and use of simulation activities for internal and external stakeholders, including presentations.
(Optional) Regional CAD Coordinator
Fulfills CAD Engineer role plus:
Implements global CAD strategy within his/her Region specific to Fluid or Fasten
Represents regional CAD community at the global level. Coordinates and leads (none displicinary leadership) his/her local PDE CAD organization within his/her region
Builds strong alignment with the key stakeholders including the PDE Directors and Global CAD Coordinator community
Represents his/her local PDE CAD team in the Global Design Committee implementing standardization and publishing of global CAD procedures and processes, such as template definition and drawing release process
Ensures roll-out of new processes decided by the Global Design Committee within his/her region.
Communicates CAD standards to region CAD designers. Ensures knowledge sharing between CAD Designer, including lessons learned and best practices from other regions
Maintains a training matrix for the region and coordinates training with the disciplinary leaders
Contributes to the benchmarking of available and potential software and hardware upgrades
Supports global decision making regarding CAD strategy
Carries out training at the regional level
(Optional) GD&T Specialist
Fulfills CAD Engineer role plus:
Professional / Certified knowledge and application of GD&T
Demonstrates proficiency in the understanding and application of the geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles expressed in ASME Y14.5 and/or ISO1101 specifications
Works closely with PDE department to review and interpret engineering drawings and ensure that they meet all necessary requirements for functionality, safety, and manufacturability.
Actively communicates GD&T requirements of manufacturing drawings to MFG engineers, facilitating interpretation and ensuring that the necessary tolerances are adhereed to during part measurement
Actively participates in DfM & DtC projects and activities
Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and have a strong understanding of design, measurement and manufacturing processes
Trains others in the organisation in the understanding and use of GD&T
(Optional) SME D-FMEA (Subject Matter Expert: Design
Fulfills CAD Engineer role plus:
Able to operate APIS-IQ Software and to train local teams on how to operate the software.
Expert knowledge on D-FMEA standards & approach and on how to apply it in compliance with automotive standards (applies Norma and VDA AIAG standard for DFMEA).
Moderates D-FMEA sessions
Ensures high standards of D-FMEA across the Product Groups used in his/her location.
Trains local CAD on D-FMEA approach as described in Norma's Process Description on (D-)FMEA
Supports presentations of D-FMEA to customers
Actively communicates with other SME D-FMEA Regionally and Globally to ensure continuous improvement and robustness of Norma's DFMEA, including frequent reviews and updates of Norma's FMEA Process Description (also based on changes from customer specifications or general standards)
(Optional) CREO Power User
Fulfills CAD Engineer role plus:
Expert in the functionality of PTC Creo Software
Demonstrates an extensive technical knowledge across CAD models, theories, new concepts, molding and design practices and standards.
Provides Creo training for basic and advance non-standard functionality.
Continuous improvement, efficiency increase, => including their documentation, roll-out and to drive adherence via auditing etc.
Technical contact for CAD community for issues related to CAD modeling.
(Optional) SME DfM & DtC (Subject Matter Expert: Design for Manufacture and Design to Cost)
Fulfills CAD Engineer role plus:
Expert knowledge on Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design to Cost (DtC) standards & approach.
Moderates DfM and DtC sessions at the requests of CAD Teams and Manager
Trains local CAD on DfM and DtC approach
Supports presentations of DfM and DtC to internal and external stakeholders as required.
Actively communicates with other SME DfM and DtC Regionally and Globally to ensure continuous improvement and robustness of Norma's DfM and DtC process.
(Optional) GE/VA-VE Coordinator
Fulfills CAD Engineer role plus:
Together with Manager CAD, drives the target of GE (Global Excellence)/VA-VE (Value Analysis
Organizes regular review with the CAD team members to track progress of individual and team performance incl. recording of ideas and their status.
Frequent exchange with local OEL (Operational Excellence Leader) and GE/VA-VE coordinators from other teams.
Ensures that Team manager receives an accurate overview/forecast of the activities (monthly reporting)
Train team members on the GE/VA-VE process and ensures adherence to processes (general approach, brainstorming's, VA-VE one pagers (as preparation for GE/VA-VE steering committee reviews), approval system, WAVE system)
Consults the team members on validity of ideas acc. to GE rules.
Administrates data in WAVE system monthly.
