Job DescriptionCACI is seeking a CAD Design Technician. Position is based in Lorton, VA.
What You'll Get to Do:
Under general supervision will work with company Design Engineers to interpret various site survey information and create initial and final installation systems design, list of material support, and artifact creation required for the delivery and installation of Electronic Security Systems.
Systems elements requiring installation may include: closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, thermal imagers, command control display equipment (CCDE), access control systems (ACS), ACS personnel enrollment stations, and intrusion detection systems (IDS) used to protect critical assets for our customers at various locations and in various environments.
Responsibilities include: (1) Directly support the development of designs and complete engineering drawings for ESS systems to include CCDE, IDS, ACS, CCTV, supporting communications and power networks, and ancillary equipment, (2) Coordinate ESS product evaluations, selections, and development of Bill of Materials and support the material procurement process, (3) Support the development and submission of contract design CDRLs and (4) Support site surveys to assess customer requirements and develop conceptual design for proposals.
Technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter curriculum.
2+ years of CAD design experience.
Strong and recent working knowledge of CAD systems. Currently the company utilizes AutoCAD 2018. Direct experience with AutoCAD in a low voltage system design role.
Possess strong working knowledge with CAD drawings as they are related to layer management and usage, drawing scales, plotting and plot scales.
Ability to read, interpret, and fault-analyze schematics and technical documentation to ensure all equipment meets the latest OEM release/revision level.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret clearance.
Must be proficient in the MS Office suite of applications.
Occasional OCONUS travel required.
Basic understanding of USAF Security Forces guidelines and regulations (AFI 31-101 and ESS Equipment Siting Guide).
Experience and understanding of construction designs for power and communications plant in support of electronic security system installation.
Certifications in annunciator systems such as Honeywell Vindicator, Linx Predator Elite, Advantor, Hirsch, AMAG, Lenel, and Software House.
