The position is for an entry level Cable Technician to help install our commercial and residential automation systems. This includes pulling and terminating Cat 5, 6, Coaxial and other low voltage wire as well as installing hardware components. Field service training provided along with company vehicle and tools.

We are a small IT Support company specializing in commercial and residential automation. Our office is located in Dublin, Ohio

Requirements

Job Duties:

  • Pull, route and label Cat 5, Cat 6, and other low voltage cable types
  • Install wire support structures
  • Terminate, test and troubleshoot cable runs
  • Install hardware components as specified per job
  • Follow specific instructions given by Team Lead
  • Complete required documentation in written and/or electronic format
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • General construction labor as needed on job sites

Skills and Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Ability to identify different colors and learn color codes
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to listen and follow instructions
  • Familiarity with Power Tools
  • Ability to work at heights or in tight, confined spaces and lift up to 50 lbs.

Benefits

Compensation and Benefits:

  • This is a full-time Contractor (1099) position to start. Pay is based on experience.
    Full-time employment is available after 60-day evaluation.
  • With full-time employment: Group Health, Dental and Vision. Paid Personal Time after 30 days employment, Paid Vacation after 1 year.

Special Requirements:

  • Must possess valid state issued drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Submission to and ability to pass a pre-hire background check.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To understand and help define requirements and perform analysis for various strategic and tactical projects for the purpose of developing or modifying simple to moderately complex software programs to meet the desired business need. This will include developing and submitting requirements to programmers, holding review sessions to discuss the requirements or desired system functions with developers, quality analysts, and management and potentially performing the development function if applicable. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs complex analysis of data and system, including loading and balancing creation of derived fields and formatting, process flows, data diagrams. * Performs all development tasks required to ensure the accuracy of each software program within the specified timeframes. * Develops skills and knowledge in required development language to perform required tasks. * Works closely with management on assigned projects from inception trough implementation ensuring adequate internal communication and user involvement is maintained. * Analyzes client and customer needs as required and assists in the requirements process, development, and unit testing of simple to moderately complex code. * Proactively obtains information needed for the successful development of software programs. * Develops and tests software using Informatica, PL/SQL, Progress 4GL, Microsoft.net or other programming languages as specified. * completes required documentation as needed to provide a full and clear history of development and changes. * Investigates issues and develops resolution in a timely manner with a technical author. * Follows pre-established departmental standards and guidelines as they pertain to design and development; adheres to the goal of delivering and maintaining the highest quality of customer servcies to our clients. * Provides feedback and suggestions to improve process to IT management. * Works closely with project managers to meet and complete project milestones accurately and on time. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs other duties as assigned. * Supports the organization's quality program(s). * Travels as required. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Licensing Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Major in Information Systems or Computer Science preferred. Language development courses in a relevant and applicable language and/or business analytical experience preferred. Education in interpreting user requirements, business applications design and development of business applications strongly preferred. Experience Four (4) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in using information systems, technology/computer science experience required to include three (3) years working in any part of the software development lifecycle, one (1) year specifically using a software development platform to build or enhance technology solutions, and one (1) year specific knowledge of Oracle databases, PL/SQL, C#/C++/C, Open Source, Korn Shell Script, Perl or Progress 4GL.
