Summary

Sells products for manufacturer or distributor to business and industrial establishments or individuals at sales office, store, showroom, or customer's place of business by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories, company sales staff, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.

Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.

Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.

Quotes prices and approve credit terms. Prepares sales contracts for orders obtained and provide organized follow-up on all quotes.

Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.

Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.

Works with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.

Tracks stock levels.

Coordinates customer training and application of cabinets.

Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.

Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.

Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.

Attends trade shows and active participant in Home Builders Association and remain current in maintaining a full understanding of materials used in industry.

Schedules and executes in home presentation for and with contractors.

Works with contractors and homeowners to develop and implement budget allowances for cabinet sales. Designs systems within those financial restraints.

Negotiate labor prices with installation crews (subcontractor) and manage cabinet installation crews, inspect completed projects and create punch list, approve payment for installation crews.

Schedule receiving, storage and delivery of materials to jobsite.

Train location employees in the proper handling, storage and delivery of products.

Educate employees to recognize nomenclatures from different manufacturers.

Required to travel 75%

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to understand and apply building material take-offs and blueprint reading.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Internet software and Microsoft Office Pro Database software, AutoCad Design software, 20/20 design software and manufacturer specific software for cabinet industry.
