Job Description Job Title : Cabinet Maker/Carpenter Location : MT Zion Illinois Reports To : Production Manager/Shop Foreman Job Overview : As a Cabinet Maker/Carpenter, you will be responsible for the construction, assembly, and installation of custom cabinetry and wood furniture. You will utilize woodworking machinery, hand tools, and detailed plans to produce high-quality wood products for residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities : Cabinet Construction : Read blueprints, technical drawings, or specifications to understand the project requirements.

Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood or wood substitutes to build cabinets, furniture, or related products. Material Selection : Choose appropriate materials, including wood types, veneers, and finishes, to meet design and structural requirements.

Machinery Operation : Safely operate woodworking machinery such as saws, routers, drills, planers, and sanders. Assembly & Installation : Assemble cabinet components using nails, screws, dowels, adhesives, and other joinery methods. Install finished cabinets and furniture at residential or commercial job sites, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.

Finishing Work : Apply stains, paints, or finishes to completed projects, ensuring a smooth, durable, and aesthetically pleasing surface. Quality Control : Inspect completed products for accuracy, quality, and craftsmanship. Make necessary adjustments to meet specifications.

Maintenance : Maintain and clean tools, machinery, and workspaces to ensure safety and operational efficiency. Safety & Compliance : Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while working with tools and equipment. Qualifications : Experience : Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a Cabinet Maker or Carpenter, with a focus on custom cabinetry or furniture making.

Skills : Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and shop drawings. Knowledge of various wood species and material properties. Ability to use and maintain woodworking machinery and hand tools.

Strong attention to detail and precision. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Physical Requirements : Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs). Comfortable standing, bending, and working in various positions for extended periods.

Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Education : High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship or vocational training in woodworking is preferred.

Work Environment : Typically in a woodshop or manufacturing environment with occasional on-site installations. Regular exposure to sawdust, noise, and machinery.
