RS Cabinet Maker I - 2nd Shift - $4,000 Sign-on Bonusin GAC Appleton

Unique Skills:

This is 1 position for second shift only

Entry level skill set of wood working tools

Safe practices of hand tools/power tools

Good communication skills and comprehension of instructions

Willingness to learn Gulfstream quality standards

This shop works prodominately with applying wood veneer to aluminum huneycomb, conforming to customer design specs

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. Wood working, wood finishing or auto body & painting experience in a technical environment or completion of Technical Certificate in cabinet making preferred. and/or completion in current year youth apprenticeship program, in area of expertise.

Position Purpose:

Under direct supervision, learns and performs the basic skills and functions related to fabrication of aircraft cabinets and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using design and engineering drawings.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions: Learns entry-level technical skills and knowledge, regulatory requirements and tooling used in aircraft cabinetmaking. Continues to develop technical competency and problem solving abilities to allow progression to the technician level.

Using standard safety and operating procedures, design/engineering drawings, tools and other materials (laminates, veneers, cap strips), develops proficiency in the preparation and making of furniture. .

Utilizes the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off completed work.

Complies with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, uses personal protective equipment; ensures aircraft interior is protected. Assists in the development and implementation of related initiatives. .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements: The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds and work any shift.

Must be computer literate.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Advanced knowledge of cabinet finishing processes and products. Experience in aerospace industry preferred.</p><p>Position Purpose:</p><p>Under general supervision, prepares, applies, and touches up finish on aircraft furniture, aircraft specifications and design/engineering drawings. Assists lead by overseeing projects and providing guidance, assistance and direction to co-workers. Mentors and trains other Cabinet Finishers.</p><p>Job Description</p><p>Principle Duties and Responsibilities:</p><p>Essential Functions:</p><ul><li><p>Performs complex high quality repairs to finished surfaces of aircraft furniture in the shop and on-board aircraft. Applies finish to furniture using spray equipment and other manual/mechanical methods.</p></li><li><p>Interprets material specifications to ensure finished product meets design and engineering requirements with a high level of quality and detail. Coordinates with Design group to ensure compliance with customer approved design samples.</p></li><li><p>Complies with and champions Safety, 5S and housekeeping. Ensures the protection of aircraft interiors (PTP). .</p></li><li><p>Mentors and trains lesser skilled technicians.</p></li><li><p>Works to develop and implement process improvements that address safety, reduce cost, reduce cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six-Sigma tools.</p></li><li><p>Utilizes the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and sign-off work.</p></li><li><p>Assists in developing initiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements, as required.</p></li></ul><p>Additional Functions:</p><ul><li><p>Accepts Lead responsibilities when needed.
