JOB SUMMARY

The Cabinet Designer and Purchasing Specialist is a key contributor to our organization, serving a multifaceted role that involves both design expertise and procurement proficiency. This position is responsible for delivering outstanding design solutions to our clients while also effectively managing the procurement process. This role plays a critical part in our mission to provide top-quality products and services to our clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare and provide bids, takeoffs, and price lists to clients within specified timelines, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.

  • Create and finalize design requests for clients, in alignment with project preferences and specifications

  • Read and interpret original concept drawings and blueprints to facilitate precise project execution.

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, sales representatives, and contractors, ensuring a positive client experience and project coordination.

  • Utilize 2020 design software to produce detailed and visually appealing layouts that meet client requirements and project objectives.

  • Process paperwork for change of vendor requests and approvals in accordance with established purchasing guidelines, ensuring smooth transitions and compliance with company policies.

  • Take on buying duties as required, collaborating with suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and effectively resolving any issues, such as shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other procurement-related problems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.

  • Proficiency in 2020 design software

  • Utilize Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints

  • Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks or responsibilities.
