C-130 Test Pilot
Joining KBR you will be a part of the world's largest independent flight test organization supporting both US Government and commercial agencies, you will be joining a highly talented and experienced KBR aircrew services team that has provided over 40 continuous years of Aircrew project support at Patuxent River. As a long term incumbent and leader in flight test, the selected applicant will work within the NAVAIR test community composed of government, military, contractor and industry personnel while supporting flight test.
Roles and Responsibilities:
This position supports tasking at the Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD.
The applicant must be able to perform the duties of Pilot in Command for C/KC-130 legacy and J-model aircraft assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron TWO ZERO (VX-20). The successful candidate will pilot and navigate the flight of fixed-wing, multi-engine aircraft during test and test support missions including Aerial Refueling, NVIS flights, logistics, and post maintenance check flights. Candidate will integrate into squadron C-130 department consisting of active duty military, government civil servant and contractor personnel supporting daily tasking to accomplish acquisition objectives for USN/USMC programs. In addition to flight duties, other assignments will include test planning and reporting, participation in technical meetings, liaison with maintenance personnel, pilot training, participation in aviation safety training and other related activities. The successful candidate must be able to perform all functional duties independently.
Education: A Bachelor's degree is required. Test Pilot School graduate desired.
A minimum of 1,000 flight hours as a pilot in the C/KC-130F, R, T, or J model type of aircraft is required.
Former designation as an aircraft commander is required, while a current designation is desired. Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance is also required. Candidate must have recent flight experience and will be required to meet the physical and medical requirements to obtain an FAA Class 2 medical certificate, and pass aviation physiology and water survival training courses.
It is desired that candidate has instructional experience for designation as a flight crew check pilot and a Type/Model/Series Instructor in J and/or Legacy aircraft platforms.
Applicant must be able to support all aspects of flight test as project officer in addition to instructing, logistics, and post maintenance check flying.
