Computer Task Group (CTG) is seeking a C Firmware Engineer to support our Fortune 100 client in Rochester, MN.

Project Location: Rochester, MN

Project Duration: Three years , ongoing

W2 employees only, please no C2C

Job Description:

This person would be responsible for developing Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) firmware functions for our Power Systems. This BMC firmware (also known as OpenBMC) is opensource available publicly on github.com. This person would be designing and implementing functions using our opensource development process, which includes collaborating with internal personnel and also with developers from Intel, Google, etc.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

  • Object oriented design knowledge and C Programming is required

  • Embedded systems knowledge, driving hardware via firmware is required

  • Familiarity with C 14 and C 17 is desired

  • Ability to work in a Linux OS building applications is required

  • Familiarity with Linux kernel/device driver development is a bonus

  • Systemd/dbus knowledge is desired

  • Familiarity with Opensource development and opensource community

tooling (eg. Git, Github, Gerrit, Mailing lists, IRC)

  • Knowledge of Git and Gerrit is especially important

If you are looking to join a growing company and enjoy hands on project management in a food manufacturing environment, covering several plants, then we are looking for you! The Project Engineer has the responsibility to lead and support engineering, systems integration, and process improvements through capital projects and operational efficiency projects within our manufacturing sites. Key responsibilities You will oversees all phases of assigned projects from inception to final operation. Responsibilities include project planning, estimating, organizing project staff, coordinating, scheduling, installation, commissioning, and financial control. Analyzes and evaluates project designs and ensures compliance with engineering principles, company standards and SSHE standards. Optimizes existing processes using continuous improvement tools. Writes, troubleshoots, and debugs process control software that controls various plant operations. During commissioning – some overnight work may be needed in this 24X7 manufacturing facility. * Creates capital proposal including scope document, cost estimate, and timelines for management review and approval. * Upon approval of capital projects, manages projects to meet all technical requirements while assuring they stay on-time and within budget.
