Ensures production materials are planned and procured to meet the production schedule. Works with procurement personnel to maintain supplier relationships and supplier performance.
Reviews and analyzes the Material Requirements Plan (MRP) on a weekly basis and releases purchase order requisitions or adjusts purchase order deliveries as needed to meet the production schedule over the appropriate planning horizon.
Works with receiving personnel to coordinate in-bound raw material shipments and with QA/QC personnel to ensure timely release of raw materials to meet production schedules.
Works closely with Procurement personnel to maintain ethical supplier relationships, supplier contractual agreements and supplier performance.
Provides raw material forecast data to Procurement personnel and suppliers.
Works closely with Procurement personnel to maintain material planning and supplier master data in the ERP system.
Analyzes raw material lead times, safety stock levels, and inventory turns to maintain raw material inventories at levels consistent with company objectives to support production requirements while optimizing inventory investment.
Participates as an active member of the Material Review Board and provides analysis and information as required.
Other duties, as assigned, or as business needs require.
ERP systems, MRP, Excel competencies, strong computer background with a thorough understanding of MRP processes, word processing, and spreadsheet software expertise, including macros.
Inventory management skills with balancing stock levels, customer service and efficiency.
Demonstrates knowledge of purchasing and possesses excellent analytical skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent education and experience.
Minimum of 0-2 years material planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
