Job Description

Performs activities related to the purchasing of materials, equipment and services for internal company use. Implements and communicates company policies and procedures for purchasing.

Reviews purchase requests for completeness and compliance with company requirements; negotiates with vendors and approves purchases of authorized amounts or size. Maintains and updates purchasing orders, systems, and documentation. Monitors the cost, schedule and performance metrics of contracts and subcontracts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Issue purchase orders based on the requirements from manufacturing, operations or project management divisions within the company

  • Follow up on the goods, services and expedite as well as liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services of those purchase order issued

  • Negotiate with different suppliers for price, quality, timeliness and other factors to ensure there will suppliers, goods, services that required by end user or project management division

  • Assess the performance of suppliers in responding to demands, develop long term relationships, or terminate those who are detrimental to the well-being of the company.

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of contracts and or closely with all areas of upper management, accounting departments, finance departments, as well as outside vendors

  • Review and analyze requisitions, invoices, supply requests and supply orders. Track and monitor inventory and needs to determine when to order or purchase new items.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge in system and or standard software used for Purchasing management IE: Oracle Cloud, SAP ,

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • Specialize in finding goods and services for businesses at the best price and timing

Compensation & Benefits Details

  • An employee's pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.

  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado or remote jobs that can be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.

  • You will also be eligible to participate in Western Digital's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan and to receive equity awards under our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs), pursuant to the terms of these programs. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Western Digital's Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
