Job Summary: Responsible for assuring that stock levels are maintained at the lowest possible level while achieving the desired min/max levels and maintaining inventory for customer specific agreements and requirements.

This will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, and working with team members across departments. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain existing item numbers and set-up of new items under the assigned product lines Purchase Order placement of products under the assigned buy lines to meet demand based on price and lead time.

Sourcing of new product as well as existing items for best price and availability Establish product forecasts based on customer orders, history and min/max levels Verify and maintain accuracy average cost and raw cost in inventory and purchase orders. Prepare quotes with best supplier option for all items under the assigned buy line Maintain vendor contact with respect to the availability of materials and delivery and communicate to sales and customer service any changes Expedite product as due dates approach Manage price increase and decreases with vendors and sales as market conditions change Attend supplier meetings to assess supplier profiles and analyze offers in the respective buy line and learn of new opportunities Review supplies to ensure of quality and resolve any issues with supplier, QA department and sales Keep updated and organized records of all communication and quotes Monitor stock levels Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics with vendors Other tasks as assigned Requirements: Proven experience in purchasing or relevant role Negotiating skills for price and terms Knowledge of market research, data and best practices for purchasing Knowledge of MS office (excel, word and outlook) Excellent communication skills Organized, detailed and sense of urgency
