Hunter Hamilton is currently seeking a Buyer to join our team in Houston, TX. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing products, goods, and materials that meet our organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. This is a 3-6 month temporary assignment, on-site at our office adjacent to the manufacturing facility.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform procurement activities to ensure the organization's current and anticipated demand for products and materials are met.
Review and approve inventory forecasts and daily replenishment recommendations.
Assess existing orders for optimal delivery.
Place purchase requisitions and vendor orders.
Monitor the quality and timeliness of products and materials supplied.
Negotiate and coordinate vendor returns and other liquidation activities.
Maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal or external customers.
Research and resolve account payables nonconformance with suppliers.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
1+ years of experience in procurement preferred.
CPM certification preferred.
Excellent customer service skills.
Proficiency with MS-Office products.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Long periods of time working on a computer.
Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required for close vision and adjusting focus.
