We are currently seeking a Buyer Planner II to join our team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and procure various commodities such as Plastics, machined parts, electronic components, cables, etc.

  • Run Oracle MRP action report and execute action messages daily per plan.

  • Initiate RFQ/RFPs and evaluate supplier bids as required.

  • Manage and develop supplier relationships to reduce costs, improve & maintain quality, and ensure on-time delivery of purchased materials.

  • Responsible for supplier selection and award, including release of standard POs and blanket POs as required.

  • Process and coordinate timely returns of defective product with supplier, Quality, and Accounting

  • Review and action ECO, MCO, and Deviations as required for assigned commodities.

  • Interface with suppliers, QA, and Engineering to resolve quality issues.

  • Provide accurate information to planning

  • Work with finance to resolve Accounting discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Assist with other procurement/material projects as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.

Required Qualifications & Background

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) required

  • Familiar with FAR/DFAR procurement clauses. U.S. Persons required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting or APICS or ISM cert or equivalent, related work experience

  • 2 - 5 years in a related field.

  • Proven experience in various processes as it relates to assigned commodity, i.e. CNC, injection molding, etc.

  • Ability to negotiate terms and pricing for materials and services is critical.

  • Ability to read and comprehend drawing specification sheets is a must.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook email.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • A customer-service oriented attitude is required.

  • Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be highly organized and able to multi-task.

  • Strong sense of urgency to place orders and ensure timely delivery

  • Oracle experience strongly preferred

Integrates cross-functionally to assure continuity of supply of required production materials and services in support of 95% customer On-Time-Delivery. Also focuses heavily monitoring the status of our products and expediting as necessary. This position is located in Simi Valley, California. Responsibilities * Source and generate purchase orders for all materials, supplies, and equipment, ensuring accuracy of delivery dates and pricing * Assists and/or leads in the identification/development of required suppliers * Responsible for OTD of assigned suppliers * Responsible for PPV (cost savings) targets * Maintain an aggressive follow-up system to ensure schedule compliance * Maintains a professional, non-personal but positive relationship with suppliers. Develops supplier relationships to enable PSI to be aware of supplier capacity and future capabilities * Interfaces with Production, Planning, Quality Assurance, Finance, Sales, Engineering, MIS & Purchasing to achieve the smooth flow of goods and services to PSI in order to maintain committed schedules to customers * Schedules and prioritizes jobs through work cells & outside operations to best meet On Time Delivery to Customers, includes prioritizing list to current communicated priority * Responsible for releasing production orders on time * Identifies problems or bottlenecks delaying critical jobs from completing on time, communicates possible solutions and follow through with the required persons to resolve problem * Status jobs and maintain updated list of remaining operations of all released jobs * Responsible for maintaining MRP accuracy for their product lines * Review cell demand and capacity ongoing with Management Leadership Competencies * Action Oriented - Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. * Business Insight - Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization's goals. * Communicates Effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. * Resourcefulness - Securing and deploying resources effectively and efficiently. * Drives Results - Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances. * Optimizes Work Processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement. Experience and Skill Required * Bachelor's degree in Business, or related field preferred. * CPM certification a plus * 3-5 years' experience as buyer/planner in a manufacturing environment preferred * Strong problem solving skills * Analytical thinker * Team player who enjoys a fast-paced work environment * Compliance to policies and detail-oriented * Must have excellent Microsoft office skills * Aerospace experience a plus * Basic knowledge reading blue prints and routings a plus * Negotiation and vendor management skills * Strong knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) * Must have excellent communications skills * High level knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement. * Must have excellent English verbal, reading and writing skills. * Great organization skills. * Ability to manage workload to deadlines. * Ability to work in a fast pace detail oriented environment.
