Position Summary:
The Buyer-Planner I shall collaborate with Fleet Maintenance Operations to review and process purchase requisitions of materials/services at the right order quantity, the required lead-time and according to the organization's procurement standard operating procedure. Buyer-Planner I will engage with both maintenance and purchasing supervision to support sourcing plans, any special projects/programs and execute tactical actions within the supply chain.
Essential Responsibilities:
Ensure a continuous supply of materials and services by placing and managing purchase orders
Engage with suppliers on basic negotiations & pricing oversight to ensure a competitive supply chain
Collaborate closely with Buyer-Planners II / III, maintenance staff and suppliers on warranty recovery
Be facilitators of inventory systems set-forth by the procurement organization
Monitor, record, and manage inventory of purchased components within assigned areas of responsibility - including year-end inventory reconciliation
Ensure compliance with the company's standard purchase terms and conditions, and continuously communicate these requirements to suppliers
Assist maintenance technicians with parts dispensing to fulfill repair work-orders and perform inventory reconciliation
< 3% travel for emergencies - may need to retrieve parts from suppliers or a cross-campus location

Education and Experience
Associates degree in any area of study is required, preferably in business
At least one (1) year of purchasing and/or material planning experience, three (3) years preferred
Experience with ERP systems preferred but not required
Relevant knowledge of service center for medium/heavy duty fleet, equipment & parts management
Excellent communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
Strong analytical skills and ability to aggregate and analyze large data set.
Strong working knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
