Pay range:
$32.01 - $48.02
This is a buyer position that is responsible for a wide variety of duties including placing orders, processing requisitions, negotiating pricing, managing backorders, coordinating forms with internal departments, placing and expediting open orders, data entry for item adds, vendor meetings, screening vendors for departmental visits and other related duties.
Reviews purchase requests from assigned departments to determine if alternate, cost effective substitutes exist and if so facilitate action to reduce costs.
Place purchase orders for assigned departments. Expedite and follow-up on purchase orders as necessary.
Monitor and adjust PO quantity and delivery dates as needed.
Build strong relationships with external vendors and internal team
Resolve purchase order and invoice discrepancies, to include deleted items, back orders, and pricing discrepancies. Works with accounts payable as needed.
Troubleshoot receiving issues with PO's and communicate to vendors on documentation needed to perform receipt
Participates in the Hospital Values Analysis Committee and is the purchasing representative to all product related committees in assigned areas.
Work with Senior Buyer(s) and Value Analyst(s) to improve the quality of data in the item file to include updating pricing and revising item descriptions.
Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and department staff.
Obtain quotes, perform benchmarking, and issue purchase orders for capital and/or minor equipment purchases.
OR buying experience a plus.

Qualifications
High school graduate required. Prefer two years college with emphasis in purchasing related topics and/or business related topics.
Minimum 1 year of related experience required. Hospital or Clinic related purchasing or contract experience preferred. Prefer previous experience in a team environment.
Familiarity with healthcare supplies and business practices helpful. Good written and verbal communication, and the ability to function both independently and as a team player. Results oriented focus. Solid problem solving and strong organizational skills required to handle multiple projects. Microsoft Excel and Word experience required. Access experience preferred. Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
