Our team is looking for a Buyer to join them. You will report to the Procurement Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Creedmoor, NC.
To be considered for the Buyer opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or other related field
3+ years of strategic purchasing experience
Effective and successful negotiation skills
Aerospace industry experience preferred
As a Buyer, you will:
Review, analyze, place and manage purchase orders, subcontract agreements, terms and conditions
Identify and share business risks with Supply Chain and Program Management
Identify and engage with internal stakeholders (engineering, regional procurement teams, product management, operations, quality) to capture commodity requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality
Partner with regional teams to efficiently transition suppliers as needed
Responsible for developing & executing detailed commodity strategy:
Assess Opportunity for commodity including spend segmentation, commodity maturity, cost drivers, and supply market analysis
Work with Sourcing to Develop Sourcing Strategy for commodity detailing projects, sourcing levers, timing, resources, and expected benefits
Accountable for execution of sourcing projects including continuous improvement, consolidation, etc.
Responsible for defining negotiation strategy including supplier profiles, commercial negotiations targets, defining switching costs, and building Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models
Conduct or support negotiations and supplier selection - accountable for contract lifecycle management and compliance
Responsible for delivering commodity productivity through price negotiations, supporting value analysis/ value engineering projects (VA/VE or i2V) and other continuous improvement projects
Support supplier segmentation, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and quarterly supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers within commodity
Support commodity continuity of supply - engage with plants to help local teams efficiently resolve escalated issues
Responsible for forecasting, reporting, mitigating, and recovery of commodity inflation
Lead periodic Commodity Reviews including updated projects, metrics, strategy, and countermeasures
Communicate and enforce customer/quality 'flow down' requirements.
Coordinate and track the return, rework, repair and exchange of defective materials
