Position Overview
As a Buyer you will be responsible for maintaining the systems and data necessary to ensure inventory levels, product availability, and service level goals are met and exceeded. The position will also be responsible for entering, placing, and following up on drop ship and special orders. In addition to demand planning and inventory management, the Buyer will team with Category Managers when sourcing new or existing products, remedying quality or defective product issues, and general category reviews. Lastly, the candidate will compile all regular reporting crucial to the smooth and successful running of the Purchasing Department.
Responsibilities Include:
Organize, review, enter, and track non-stock ("Specials") purchases into ERP and demand planning systems.
Place, track, and follow up on all customer drop ship orders • Build and disseminate, on a weekly basis, dead inventory reporting for Sales Staff.
Coordinate with Sales, Accounting, and Customer Service on customer returns; communicate with manufacturers to ensure returns are received and credits received.
Categorize and enter new stocking SKUs into ERP system.
Handle ad-hoc follow-ups on past-due purchase orders, where / when needed.
Enter new, changed, or incorrect pricing and costs into the system as needed.
Provide sales team with up-to-date, current costs on non-stocked products.
Assist the sourcing of new products with the Category Managers.
Maintain and update daily, weekly, and monthly reports, such as Service Level, Inventory, Open Orders, and Lead-Time reporting.
Manage the organization and tracking of vendor marketing programs.
Data management within ERP and PIM systems on an as-needed basis.
Manage SKU setup and routinely correct setup errors.

The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's Degree; or 1-2 years Purchasing experience.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Basic proficiency with analytic software, such as Tableau or Power BI (not required, but desired).
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Must be detailed oriented and well organized.
