Job Description:

  • Tactical Procurement Buyer position primarily responsible for the execution buying supporting the Electronic Components Commodity Team.

  • Issue RFQs, evaluate bids, select suppliers, and place PO's. Negotiate price, delivery and service.

  • Responsible for low/high dollar procurements and tactical maintenance of all procurement systems

  • Use Oracle EBS/ASCP daily to analyze planning needs, update orders, create new PO's and add line items

  • Respond to mfg. operations schedule changes - expedite Purchase Orders to meet operation 'need dates' by working with the suppliers to support unexpected demands. Cancel and Deexpedite PO's to best manage inventory levels and impact cash flow position.

  • Support Blanket Purchase Order awards (contracts) & inventory programs

  • Disposition RDNs (Rejection and Disposition Notification) in a timely manner

  • Manage engineering (revision) change notifications

  • Negotiates with suppliers regarding rejections, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes.

  • Participant on a Supply Chain Commodity Team teams that evaluate and rate our suppliers, relative to production capability, performance and delivery.

  • Ensure supplier compliance via an internet supplier portal (eXpo PO tracking)

  • Monitor critical shortages daily and negotiate the premium requests from suppliers with Planning

  • Assist with account payable invoice reconciliation

  • Responsible for item part data attribute accuracy - LT updates, min/mult updates and sending data steward requests

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint

  • Electrical engineering or applicable electronics commodity experience would be helpful

  • ERP Business Systems and Agile (configuration mgmt.), experience a plus

  • Project management experience

  • Supplier or Customer service interactions (internal or external)

  • Excels in a team environment - developing relationships and sharing knowledge

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint

Arconic is fully committed to developing people: providing employees with the resources and learning and development opportunities they need to excel and build a career. #LI-DR1 Qualifications Duties and Responsibilities: * Coordinate with Maintenance to source appropriate vendors, suppliers, and service providers * Obtain competitive bids, review and analyze price quotations * Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers using Arconic approved protocols and policies * Work with existing vendors to develop and evaluate them as qualified suppliers * Expedite the delivery of critical equipment and materials, meeting all required deadlines * Efficiently maintain Purchase Orders and all related records, following established Accounting and Arconic protocols * Work with the Finance department to establish annual purchasing budgets * Develop and maintain ongoing purchasing cost saving initiatives * All other duties as directed by management Basic Qualifications: * Associate's Degree from an accredited institution * 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment * Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. * This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
