Buyer II

Responsible for participating in decision making with management in the area of purchasing.

Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for buying assignments and/or management of commodities

  • Sources commodities and services. Identifies and implements strategies for cost savings through negotiation, process

improvement, item substitution, etc.

  • Identifies market trends pertaining to commodities being managed and sourced.

  • Develops and manages relationships with vendors and internal customers.

  • Prepares reports and analyses around suppliers and/or commodities managed.

  • Performs data quality checks and clean up of commodities

  • Leverages and utilizes internal tools for such activities as demand mgmt., spend mgmt., contract mgmt., etc


  • Requires a BA/BS; 3 years of experience in procurement, finance, or analysis; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Additional education or professional certification preferred.
