Role Summary

As a Buyer III within our brand-new WM, America Manufacturing Inc. site, you will purchase materials, supplies and services, ensuring compliance with the company's margins and delivery requirements. You will be happy to be instrumental in the qualification of vendors, evaluation of bids and negotiation of prices and terms most favorable for the organization.

As our Buyer III you will enjoy being responsible for tracking purchases, monitoring vendor quality, and the overall supplier relationship. As the Buyer III you will energetically support Engineering in researching products, clarifying specifications, and providing quotes to help make a difference.

What you'll be doing

You will be excited to be responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials, components, and supplies needed for production. This includes identifying suppliers, obtaining quotes, negotiating contracts, and issuing purchase orders to secure materials at the best possible price and terms.

You will verify that current drawing revisions are sent to suppliers and forward any drawing or specification questions from suppliers to engineering for resolution.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers is essential. You will work closely with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials, resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise, and continuously evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality and reliability.

You are happy to be responsible for managing the procurement costs and optimizing spending wherever possible. This involves identifying opportunities for cost reduction, negotiating favorable pricing with suppliers, and implementing cost-effective procurement strategies.

Ensuring that purchased materials meet quality standards and specifications is critical to maintaining product quality. Buyers collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish quality requirements, conduct supplier audits, and monitor incoming materials for compliance with quality standards.

You understand the importance of maintaining accurate records of purchase orders, inventory levels, supplier contracts, and other procurement-related documentation is essential for tracking expenses, managing inventory, and complying with regulatory requirements.

As the Buyer III you will actively seek opportunities to find alternative suppliers for cost reductions and delivery improvements and to develop optimal sourcing solutions that improve procurement processes, streamline workflows, and enhance efficiency.

You have the ability to identify improvement opportunities for potential integration into Supplier contract strategies, vendor-managed inventory (VMI).

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Bachelor's degree in business, finance or equivalent required.

4-7 years' experience in procurement, preferably in manufacturing industries required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, prior experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). Preferred

Extensive experience of negotiating complex and significant purchasing agreements with suppliers.

CIPS, CPM or equivalent qualification. Preferred.

Buyer III role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical ability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the manufacturing environment.

Lead with a positive attitude and professionalism.

You have the ability to analyze data, such as inventory levels, demand forecasts, and supplier performance metrics, to make informed decisions and develop effective procurement plans.

Accuracy is crucial in procurement to ensure that the right materials are procured in the correct quantities and specifications. You must be able to pay close attention to detail to prevent errors and minimize waste.

You can effectively communicate as a liaison with suppliers, collaborating with internal teams, and conveying information clearly and concisely. You are able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

The ability to adapt to changing priorities, market conditions, and project requirements is essential in procurement. Are you flexible and agile in your approach to meet evolving business needs?

You prioritize customer needs and requirements, whether it's internal stakeholders such as production teams or external customers. Ensuring that materials are available on time and meeting quality standards as it is essential for customer satisfaction!

You enjoy keeping in the know as the procurement landscape is constantly evolving, with new technologies, legal aspects of purchasing, market trends, and best practices always emerging.

It is important to you to uphold ethical standards and integrity which is paramount in procurement. As our Buyer III, you must conduct yourself ethically in all interactions with suppliers, colleagues, and stakeholders to maintain trust and credibility as part of our values.
