In this role, you will be trusted to select and negotiate with approved domestic and international vendors and place purchase orders in response to product requirements established by various departments.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Evaluating bids, selecting and recommending suppliers and negotiating price, quality and service.
Expediting the procurement of parts or materials in short or critical supply.
Performing market analyses and competitive evaluations.
Negotiating and settling with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections and losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes.
Conducting supplier site visits and rating them based on production capability, performance and delivery as needed.
Mentoring and coaching less experienced team members.

Requires at least 5 years related experience.Knows a wide range concepts and approaches including purchasing for lean manufacturing, Kanban and supplier development. Requires strong negotiation abilities and above average analytical skills. Shows excellent verbal and written communication skills including with executives or in international contexts.
