Job Summary:
Serves in a multi-functional role related to various operating system initiative enhancements, implementations and utilization including, but not limited to, CRP, bill of material and routing development, training shop floor personnel and developing standard operating procedures where applicable. Also compiles information to effectively negotiate and procure assigned commodities.

Requirements:
Basic Qualifications

A. Education

  • Bachelors Degree in materials or purchasing related discipline.

B. Experience

  • 5 - 8 years industry experience in materials or purchasing-related discipline on an ERP/MRP system.

  • Require comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and SyteLine or other ERP software.

Preferred Qualifications

A. Education

  • Bachelors Degree in a related discipline.

B. Experience

  • 2 - 5 years prior relevant experience
  • APICS (CPIM or CIRM) or NAPM (CPM) Certification

Interpersonal Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

  • Excellent negotiating skills

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of CRP, BOM's, time standards, routings, work center loading, master scheduling, VOI, VMI and supplier certification.

  • Working knowledge of material grades, types and specifications as well as a basic understanding of manufacturing operating systems.

Other Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.

  • Demonstrated ability to concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Demonstrated ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.

  • Demonstrated ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

Essential Functions

  • Works with assigned commodity group, planning and organizing all tasks.

  • Be a strong team player with ability to work effectively on cross-functional Product Development Teams to support the quotation process and vehicle launches.

  • Sourcing support- investigates potential suppliers.

  • Participate in Supplier quality activities such as corrective action completion.

  • Works with best total cost solutions. May coordinate and negotiate corporate contracts for various commodities with the expectation of providing purchase price reductions and establishing purchase pricing.

  • Qualifies suppliers through Supplier Quality audits and continuously reviews supplier's performance.

  • Must be capable of handling multiple projects at one time.

  • Manage Purchase Price Variance monthly.

  • Review, analyze and interpret various reports.

  • Ability to evaluate procurement marketplace for assigned commodities.

  • Remains current on economic, industrial and other trends that affect market and prices.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities: Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity requiring judgment and ingenuity working within procedures, policies and practices in the material and purchasing discipline. Performs work under general management direction. Modifies and installs changes to current procurement systems that are of moderate complexity. Plans studies and collects data to determine costs of parts and material such as aluminum, steel, composite and other raw material and purchases and parts, equipment and supplies. Analyzes data obtained, records results and report to management. Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs. Makes estimates of new and proposed product or service costs. Reviews requisitions and confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Estimates values according to knowledge of market price and determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid. Prepares purchase orders or bid requests. Purchases parts and material of low to medium value requiring a moderate level of technical knowledge of the aircraft system or subsystems for which it will be used. Expedites delivery of goods to users. Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
