Come be a part of something that sustains and enriches the lives of every human being. As Buyer II you will become an integral part of Hydro Gate's Team. Duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

This position will perform complex and technical duties involving the ordering, processing and management of product from offshore, as well as, domestic suppliers.

  • Obtain price quotes for new business

  • Meet with new suppliers/potential suppliers/current suppliers

  • Solicit new vendors, suppliers

  • Enter vendor purchase orders

  • Expedite orders as needed to help ensure customer delivery requirements are met.

  • Determines overdue materials, informs the direct of Supply Chain of materials status.

  • Establish short and long term project plans to meet cost reduction goals.

  • Negotiating skills: must have confidence and the ability to be assertive.

  • Strong judgment and decision making skills

  • Organization: very detail oriented and always comes prepared

  • Continuous learning: ability to learn new procedures and adapt to change

  • Motivation: must maintain a positive attitude and strong work energy

  • Have the ability to read drawings/blueprints

  • Microsoft office skills

  • Must be customer-oriented and have the ability to work as a team player with others inside and outside the organization.

Required Experience:

  • Experience purchasing metals, both domestically and overseas a plus

  • Minimum three years negotiating price, terms and delivery of industrial components.

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in purchasing.

  • BS degree preferred or equivalent combination of work experience and education.

Primary work hours will be Monday through Friday. Work hours will vary based on customer requirements. This position is salaried exempt and does not qualify for overtime pay.
