Buyer

Introduction:

This position will be responsible for buying various line items including but limited to janitorial/sanitary, foodservice disposables, dry food, frozen food and refrigerated food items.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain inventory levels at a 99.7% fill rate

• Maintain sufficient inventory levels to maximize turns and minimize backorders

• Maintain inventory and vendor files in AS400, including product information, pricing and freight costs

• Maintain E3 Inventory Management System

• Setup new vendors in and items in both AS400 and E3 systems

• Verify Purchase Order confirmations for pricing, quantity and dates

• Maintain Allergen book

• Maintain SDS book

• Review and purchase products for concept promotions

• Work with vendors to expedite orders and return product

• Cross trained on all lines and duties within the Procurement Department

• Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications:

• Associates Degree Preferred Or High School Diploma with 2-5 years of experience required

• Must be able to learn and use computer programs and be able to teach these skills to others

• Must be self-directed but able to work within prescribed parameters.

• Must be well organized and have good analytical skills

• Must be able to work well with others as required

• Speak effectively with all employees and associates

• Work effectively in a team environment.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding in a variety of situations.

• Must be able to react calmly and effectively in stressful situations to achieve company goals

Physical Requirements:

• Move around office and warehouse facility as needed.

• Sit, bend, and reach with a casual dexterity for document processing and communications.

• Occasional warehouse environment with noise, dust, odors and diversity from very warm to very cold temperatures.

• Must be able to travel, as needed
