Tactical responsibilities supporting locations in both the United States and Mexico.
Identifying areas of opportunity for supplier development.
Quality initiatives to include but are not limited to reducing supplier DPPMs (defect parts), supporting on CANs (corrective actions), executing SOs (special orders that are supplier at-fault), implements FAIs (first article inspections), and addressing line rejects if there is a quality issue on the line.
Support and maintain supplier's deliveries and inventory levels. Properly manage long lead time suppliers. Monitor and maintain proper DOS (days of supply) levels for all suppliers.
Cost initiatives include but are not limited to maintaining POs (purchase orders), AP (accounts payable) and invoicing issues, and support efforts on projects to reduce costs. (POs, AP issues, Supplier reduction, savings initiatives)
Maintain supplier relationships.
Assist in processing engineering change requests.
Participate in monthly business review with top suppliers. Maintain accurate notes from the meetings and follow up on any buyer-related actions.
Fully understand and able to navigate internal systems that relate to buyer activities.
Work closely with scheduling and planning to ensure supply continuity. In the event of a shortage, work with supporting functions in addition to the supplier on all options to mitigate the shortage.
Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.
