Basic Job Functions:
Coordinate, oversee, and execute proper procurement strategies.
Develop vendor relationships to drive financial success for the division.
Point of contact for the purchase of standard and non-standard material.
Coordinate with Engineering to determine and meet mill rolling schedules.
Work with Customer Service to determine lead times to ensure buyout materials arrive to the plant or jobsite on time to meet committed schedule.
Work with Customer Service, Engineering, Detailing, and Production to ensure the correct materials are requisitioned in a timely manner.
Coordinate with Shipping Coordinator and vendors on direct ship items including their billing and delivery.
Assist with managing proper inventory levels and facilitate cycle counts.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing end-of-month input and reconciliation, and backing up other Purchasing teammates.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
Minimum two years of experience in purchasing or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word documents.
Knowledge of metal building components.
Experience in purchasing or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Operations, Purchasing, or Supply Chain.
