JOB SUMMARY:

The Buyer is accountable for timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services in accordance with corporate policies and procedures. The position works closely with the business unit leaders, to define the scope and meet the customer requirements and changing business needs. This position creates risk adverse contracts that involve materials, supplies or services that are of critical importance to the organizations operations and profitability.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain a strong partnership with key suppliers.

  • Utilize the established procurement policies and procedures in all scenarios.

  • Interacts with the line of business to engage, develop & lead supplier relationships to negotiate value in cost, security, risk & innovation and implement cost effective solutions for the Enterprise.

  • Manage non-compliance issues of the contract.

  • Professional represents Schneider to suppliers, internal customers and contractors in accordance to our Procurement policies.

  • Ability to evaluate financial impact and Enterprise risk while creating and developing professional and legal contracts.

  • Act as the lead facilitator for issue resolution in solving problems and concerns involving the supplier and internal business customer.

  • Use project management and communication skills to lead multi-functional groups to deliver the best value solution to the Enterprise.

  • Accountable for the purchase of materials, services, and high value/risk quotes in order to achieve the best value for the organization.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all internal and external organizational levels to include senior and executive leadership.

  • Identify the internal customers needs, wants and service level requirements and create scope of work. Provide direction and cost effective solutions to meet those requirements.

  • Research products and services across departmental lines to consolidate and leverage spend to achieve best value (quality, service and price) for Schneider.

  • Up to 10% travel required.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; or the equivalent.

  • Four years of practical work experience required a combination of purchasing, finance and project management preferred.

  • CPSM - Certified Professional in Supply Management a plus.

EDUCATION LEVEL: Bachelor and/or equivalent work experience

EXPERIENCE: 2-4 Years

Receives and stocks merchandise in the Optical area, and organizes and maintains the Optical area by following Company procedures, utilizing equipment appropriately, merchandising, and completing paperwork, logs, and other required documentation. Operates hardware such as cash registers or related equipment, processes member purchases, and assists in payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges using appropriate procedures for different membership and payment types. Sells Optical products and services by assisting Members with purchasing decisions, measuring, adjusting, and repairing frames and lenses, completing eyewear/contact lens orders, identifying and verifying prescription information, completing and maintaining paperwork, forms, and other required documentation, collecting payments for doctor services, and performing and recording results of optometric pre-tests.
