Buyer

Job Summary:

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies needed for production. This role involves negotiating with suppliers, analyzing market trends, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Adheres to purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
• Develops, implements, and maintains warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures.
• Coordinates product deliveries using knowledge of material work planning and methods engineering processes and procedures.
• Negotiates best vendor terms, pricing, and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements.
• Maintains appropriate records to guide future purchase needs.
• Sends new purchase orders to vendors.
• Reviews requisitions.
• Prepares purchase orders and bid requests.
• Receives and contacts vendors to review order status.
• Contacts vendors with discrepancies with quantity, quality.and pricing.
• Interfaces with all departments and resolves problems and issues as necessary.
• Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal inventory control system.
• Assists other departments when required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Starting salary range: $70,000 - 80,000, actual compensation will be based on experience.
