We are currently looking for Buyer for our office in our Desert Hot Springs location.
What you'll be doing:
As the Buyer, you will be responsible for developing and managing our strategy to optimize buying for our company. This role will lead the standardization and transformation of buying by establishing a clear path for growth and innovation, cost savings, new product introduction, custom products development, including spend analysis, contract reviews, pricing, tooling, supplier management, packaging, purchasing, and demand planning.
As the Buyer, you will:
Create a vision for and execution strategy for Buying
Review new supplier exclusivity and new business opportunities
Develop and execute best practices including direct pricing, define lead times, vendor production capacity, vendor agreements, consolidation & SLAs, supplier performance management, tooling, commodity planning, New Product Introduction (NPI) and Custom products to fulfill end-to-end demand
Engage suppliers to drive supplier innovation and design for manufacturability
Tap into the capabilities and knowledge from the supplier community to facilitate external innovation
Collaborate with Finance to validate the impact of contract negotiations
Identify emerging trends and requirements for all future product needs
Implement standard processes, category management, engage low cost country suppliers, risk mitigation, supplier relationship management
Your experience and skills include:
Bachelor's degree preferred, Associates required
Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively communicate well with all levels of the organization
8+ years of relevant work experience in global supply chain & procurement, buying, Quality Control with vendors/suppliers, purchasing and planning
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
Proven ability to drive cohesion and collaboration among many different people and functions
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Ability to manage large, complex projects and break them down and execute into manageable pieces, develop functional processes, and deliver them in a successful and timely manner
Knowledge of 6 Sigma, Lean Experience, Quality Control, Vendor Management Inventory, Kaizens, Workouts, Process mapping, improved productivity
Ability to successfully motivate and maintain employee involvement while driving change
Organizational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities
Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and MS-Project skills
