X-Rite, recognized as one of "West Michigan's Best & Brightest Companies to Work For" is seeking a Buyer-Calibration Coordinator to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor, this role supports daily production operations by securing an optimum supply of materials required for manufacturing to meet daily customer demand. The primary job responsibilities are to utilize and monitor materials planning with minimal inventory investment. These procedures involve direct contact with outside suppliers, transportation carriers, Customer Service, Engineering, and Operations departments to meet current and projected customer requirements.
Achieve department performance goals (ie. On Time Delivery, Inventory Turns, Inventory Accuracy, Material Flows)
Conduct Danaher Material Planning (DMP) activities in machine shop improving Kanban execution and material flow.
Create Purchase orders for anodize and Maintenance needs of the machine shop, tracks maintenance cost by machine.
Running saw to cut material for jobs. Must be able to plan and coordinate jobs to ensure jobs are cut in time for production needs.
Utilize and monitor material planning procedures ensuring consistent quality, delivery, and cost with minimal inventory investment.
Direct contact with outside suppliers, transportation carriers, customer service, and operations staffs to meet/exceed current and projected customer requirements, assuring material availability and optimal inventory levels.
Work with Commodities supplier to hold inventory to ensure Tooling and supplies are kept stocked to prevent stock outs. Coordinates with outside vendor to calibrate gages, Track and prevent gages from being out to calibration that will stop production.
Perform Root Cause / Corrective Analysis and present findings to management for short term and permanent solutions to material supply issues

1 years of lean manufacturing experience including Kanban planning, establishing reorder quantities, inventory optimization, and a strong process orientation
Results driven and possess excellent organization, communication (written and oral).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel: pivot tables, create and work with formulas, perform data entry); Perform queries in Oracle
