The Albany Med Health System is the region's largest not-for-profit health system. We are regionally governed, and our members include Albany Medical Center, Albany Medical College, Columbia Memorial Health, Glens Falls Hospital, and the Visiting Nurses. We serve northeastern New York and western New England with most medical specialties.

Our centralized Supply Chain is currently recruiting for multiple Full-Time Buyer positions in the Purchasing Office at the Albany Campus.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, the Buyers is responsible for the procurement of goods, services, and equipment to meet operational needs of all departments of the Albany Med Health System. Provide outstanding customer service to departments and interact regularly to understand needs. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and communicate regularly regarding order status.

Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Creation and issuance of Purchase Orders in an accurate and timely manner using the Electronic Resource Platform (ERP).

• Management and expedited execution of priority and urgent order requests.

• Obtain order confirmation and expected delivery date.

• Follow up on open orders including tracking and verification of delivery.

• Assist with invoice exception resolution.

• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

An Associate degree in an appropriate field, plus 3-5 years of experience in purchasing. Must have experience and ability to work with computer applications. Must be able to work as a member of a team as well as independently, with willingness and ability to make decisions. Ability to respond to and prioritized time sensitive demands in a face paced environment is essential. Healthcare experience is preferred but is not required.
