The Buyer will lead the procurement function and oversee all aspects of purchasing, negotiations, strategy, tool, and process implementation for procurement related to goods and services. The Buyer will be responsible for providing leadership and direction within the procurement organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leads the procurement function and oversees all aspects of purchasing, negotiations, strategy, tool, and process implementation for procurement related to goods and services.
Provides leadership and direction within the procurement organization. Manages and develops resources to deliver business partner satisfaction and achievement of overall ADTRAN business and financial objectives.
Negotiates favorable contractual terms and conditions for ADTRAN with suppliers.
Builds strong relationships with suppliers and partners, fostering collaboration, and teamwork.
Delivers on cost reduction commitments through the identification, development, and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives.
Supports the sales and services organizations in strategic situations.
Develops and implements efficiencies, standardized tools, practices, and procedures shortening the quotation, RFP, and decision making and evaluation time.
Leads the development and execution of a performance-driven supplier management process resulting in structured feedback.
Develops, implements and maintains procurement policies; reviews on a regular basis to ensure relevance and conformance with best practices and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory policies.
Establishes Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) practices and reinforces through regular benchmarking, periodic RFP's, and supplier performance metrics reporting.
Other projects and assignments may result and be assigned to accommodate the changing needs of the department and the Company.
BA/BS in business, purchasing, or related field or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred.
2-5 years of leadership experience in procurement, setting procurement strategies, driving cost savings, and improving terms and conditions.
Proven track record of successfully managing risk.
Possess solid computer skills (proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) and experience with an ERP system.
No travel is expected in this position.
