Job Summary: The Buyer/Purchaser is responsible for effectively collaborating with US-based suppliers, closely coordinating with the supply chain team. This role reports to the Manager of Supplier Relationships.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRA):

1.Supplier Relationship Management:

o Strengthen existing relationships with suppliers and service providers.

o Identify and develop new supplier/provider relationships.

o Take ownership of the supply chain process.

2.Strategic Sourcing and Optimization:

o Optimize sourcing strategies by:

Lowering costs.

Improving lead times.

Negotiating favorable terms and conditions.

Ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.

o Collaborate with suppliers on long-term Indefinite Delivery and Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) based strategic agreements/contracts.

o Implement Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) procurement and eliminate Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ).

o Integrate tactical measures into sourcing and procurement activities.

3.Contract Management:

o Manage purchase contracts.

o Work with legal counsels to review and ratify agreements before finalizing.

4.Logistics and Warehousing:

o Oversee associated logistics and warehousing activities.

5.Cross-Functional Collaboration:

o Collaborate with other stakeholder functions within the company, including pre-sales, planning, program management, engineering, quality, and finance & accounts.

6.Data Management and Compliance:

o Maintain accurate material-related data in QuickBooks for financial statements and statutory compliance.

o Adhere to certified processes and procedures.

o Keep clean audit records.

7.Reporting:

o Provide Management Information System (MIS) reports and other relevant data to key stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Effective communication via phone and email, excellent customer service, and strong negotiation skills.

  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to execute tactical plans.

  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines and willing to work overtime.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

  • Familiarity with Materials Management Information Systems (MMIS).

  • Collaborative team player with quick turnaround capabilities.

  • Practical understanding of Supply Chain Management principles.

  • Effective interpersonal communication with various stakeholders.

  • Broad knowledge of medical and surgical products.
