Job Purpose

This position will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and implementing new suppliers. Managing all activities regarding supplier identifications and awards. Administering long term supply agreements for all commodities when applicable. Key responsibilities include participating in cross-functional teams, researching best commodity practices, achieving cost reduction initiatives and executing sourcing strategies. This position is a senior buyer position and must require minimal supervision and guidance.

  • Works with assigned commodity group, planning and organizing all tasks.

  • Develops teams to support the quotation process and NPI launches.

  • Sourcing support- investigates potential suppliers.

  • Participate in Supplier quality activities such as corrective action completion.

  • Works with best total cost solutions.

  • Qualifies suppliers through Supplier Quality audits and continuously reviews supplier's performance.

  • Coordinates with engineering departments on new product development.

  • Must be capable of handling multiple projects at one time.

  • Input Purchase order data for outside processing

  • Monitor purchase orders to maintain delivery schedules.

  • As applicable, must be able to expedite critical components and overdue purchase orders.

  • Resolve supplier problems associated with, invoicing issues, obsolete, rework and scrap material.

  • Must be able to develop excellent working relationship with both internal and external customers as well as suppliers.

  • Maintain supplier relationships in order to drive cost reductions while continually achieving the highest level of quality material.

  • Manage Purchase Price Variance monthly.

  • Review, analyze and interpret various reports.

  • Ability to evaluate procurement marketplace.

  • Remains current on economic, industrial and other trends that affect market and prices.

  • Perform additional duties as required

Education and Experience:

  • Ability to read engineering blueprints or any relevant technical documents.

  • Excellent negotiation, presentation verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to follow instructions and complete task on time with little supervision.

  • Ability to interface with company and supplier senior management

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment in the performance of essential duties.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead assigned project and teams.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field of study and a minimum of 8-10 years' experience in raw material purchasing for precision machining with semiconductor industry experiences a plus.

  • Oracle and Microsoft Office Suite experience required.

  • Agile experience a plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION Performs assignments related to the procurement of Information Technology and Corporate services and materials from suppliers that are broad in nature with some latitude for reviewed action. Responsible for selecting and negotiating with approved vendors, assuring the timeliness of deliveries and accuracy of orders, and following up with vendors when there is a problem with delivery. Duties include but are not limited to, preparing purchase orders, vendor relations, reviewing bid proposals, negotiating contracts and corrective action for defective goods. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Compile information and records to prepare purchase orders in accordance with proper procedures. Works with management to address all aspects of IT Hardware/ Software procurement, including procurement support, capital/expense business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability. Process and manages an efficient system for tracking all open purchase orders to report to management and internal stakeholders. Works with IT management to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products to suppliers. Regularly review contracts with stakeholders to ensure pricing models, usage, and service levels are current and optimized and that the vendor adheres to all terms and conditions Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Expedite current purchase orders for delivery. Maintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, cost, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories. Perform all clerical requirements, as needed with reference to specific responsibilities. Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action. Maintain ethical conduct with all vendor relations. Maintain open communication lines with other departments. Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford. Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level. Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job. QUALIFICATIONS Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel, MS Word and industry standard purchase order software platforms Good verbal communication and negotiating skills. Knowledge of billing practices and controls. Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
