Job Summary:

The Busser assists Servers by monitoring and cleaning tables throughout service. General duties include setting and clearing the table of dishes during the meal. They are often responsible for bringing bread and butter, etc. to the table before the ordered dish arrives. They may also help bring food from the kitchen and serve. Ensure excellent food service to all guests. Maintain a clean, friendly environment for employees and guests to enjoy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Food Service: (50%)

  • Greet all guests and take their orders as needed to assist servers

  • Be knowledgeable of the menu and wines if asked by the customer

  • Assist servers with the accurate and timely delivery of food by running food from the kitchen to table

  • Deliver bread and/or olive oil to tables within 3 minutes of a guest being seated

  • Clear and reset tables at the proper times during each course

  • Open and serve beverages as needed

  • Fill water and non-alcoholic beverages in a timely manner

  • Present guest checks

  • Adhere to all Health and Safety code standards

  • Abide by state liquor service standards, particularly prohibiting service to minors or intoxicated persons

  • Promote the FC Winery and up sell Coppola wines and products

  • Communicate all issues to the Manager

  • Dress appropriately in uniform for shifts

  • Preparation: (25%)

  • Fold/stack cocktail napkins

  • Cut bread for all tables

  • Stock supplies as needed in the dining room

  • Stock glassware

  • Reset tables after each guest completes their meal

  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the kitchen, workrooms and equipment

  • Assist in taking inventory of silverware and glassware

  • Report stock inventory shortages

  • Make recommendations regarding replacement of equipment

  • Opening / Closing: (25%)

  • Clean bathrooms, dining room and sidewalks so they are guest-ready for next day

  • Adhere to daily cleaning schedule and utilize any and all check lists

  • Set up outside furniture and return furniture and movie posters at Caf close

  • Secure and lock front door gates

  • Declare tips accurately

  • Restock sodas

  • Wipe tables

  • Bring all dirty dishware to the kitchen

  • Take out dining room trash to garbage bin

  • Check in with Manager at end of shift

  • High school diploma or general education degree.

  • One to three months of prior busser experience and/or training.
