Defines and performs systems analysis and development tasks to improve workflow and operating efficiency. Makes recommendations to standardize procedures and processes and to introduce new technology or improve existing technology. Analyzes costs of existing operations and prepares a cost/benefit analysis of recommended changes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Two to three years of experience in operations/technology project management activities

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • General knowledge of policies, plans, procedures, products and regulatory requirements for assigned business unit

  • Ability to conduct an analysis of a business need, including scheduling meetings, planning agendas and conferring with business line leaders

  • Thorough understanding of project management and testing methodology and procedures

  • Ability to develop test schedules, review testing plans, track test issues and report on test results

  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Ability to work as part of a project team

  • Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills

  • Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to work effectively and accurately in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to manage and maintain Vendor relationships, including daily communication, scheduling and/or attending meetings

  • Ability to manage daily account reconcilements for both cash and check balancing

  • Ability to conduct daily analysis of business/ Vendor needs, including cash inventory management, problem-solving, reporting and performance tracking

  • Ability to identify and resolve/escalate problems

  • Knowledge of recycler/safe products beneficial

VIEW JOBS 3/24/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-22T00:00 The Position Highway Maintenance Workers are certified by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) to operate a variety of complex or specialized highway maintenance and construction equipment in order to restore and maintain the integrity of roadway surfaces; maintain roadside slopes, shoulders, culverts and ditches to restore drainage and prevent erosion; and repair or replace related roadway appurtenances such as guardrails, markers, guide posts and fences. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. These positions are located within District I, Las Vegas. Under general supervision of a Highway Maintenance Supervisor I, incumbents will function as the assistant supervisor or lead person. Duties include striping, signs, pavement markings, roadway lighting, roadside maintenance, summer betterment projects, snow removal, and anti-icing/de-icing as policy requires. Crew members also respond to emergency situations from traffic control for all incidents, both natural and manmade, to removing debris in the travel lanes or similar unplanned events that require an immediate response to protect the public. When those events occur, maintenance personnel are called out 24 hours a day in order to promptly alleviate or at least warn the driving public of the condition. The hours for these positions are subject to change depending on the needs of the appointing authority and may be five 8 hour shifts or four 10 hour shifts. Special Requirements This position may require working alternate shifts and outside of traditional business hours. The hours of this position are subject to change based on the needs of the appointing authority. Typical shifts are four 10-hour or five 8-hour shifts, but may include some variation depending on the specific needs of the department. This position requires an applicant be at least 18 years of age upon application. If selected, proof of being at least 18 years of age will be required.
