Business Unit General Manager - Chicago Business Unit965 Muirfield DrHanover Park, Illinois, 60103United States BU General Manager Chicago Metro, and Milwaukee, WI Area Business Unit General Manager Sales & OperationThe General Managers primary duties include directing the Sales Force and Operational Team to improve key performance indicators including all P&L responsibilities, safety, sales, volume, margin/market growth, customer satisfaction, earnings, quality, cost, productivity, waste, employee engagement, legal and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. The Business Unit General Manager reports to an Area Vice President, Sheet-Feeder Region. This position will be based out of one of the Sheet-Feeder plants located in the Chicago Metro area and support the two Chicago plants/market and the Milwaukee, WI market.

Key Responsibilities:
Providing a safe work environment for our employees, by ensuring all process, procedures, training, accountability, etc. are in place and followed.Drives goal of exceeding regional FBA volume and profit through new account development withintargeted market segments, growth in existing accounts, margin improvement plans. Maintain a sufficient pipeline to meet your volume growth and Margin objectives. Size of pipeline should be determined by factoring the required growth along with the closure rate. Develop and implement action sales plan for increasing plant income, volume (i.e.; sales, creating efficiencies, etc.). Work closely with sales manager and sales representatives in developing and maintaining key account relationships.Focus effort on closing the highest potential, hot accounts, in the market based on plant(s) capacity Ensure target accounts match with the margin, capacity, and strength requirements of your operating units. Set and maintain appropriate policy for tooling, outside purchases, etc. Ensure all customer feedback is promptly dealt with and any complaints are corrected immediately Provide a vision for the plant strategically linking resources of the facility with its respective markets.Direct quality, customer service, on-time delivery and additional KPI to ensure world class customer satisfaction.Drive productivity, operational efficiency and maintenance to bring machines back to OEM Levels.Control cost within budgetary limits to achieve profitability. Review and understand annual budget, forecasts, and monthly financial summaries for plant.Assure that on a daily basis all WestRock values, standards, and Customer Commitments (i.e.; sales, quality,R&A, safety, employee relations, on-time delivery, reporting etc.) are followed.Build effective relationships with all departments in plant to produce strong customer relationships and asuperior product. Maintain a strong working relationship with a shared focus on our employees and external customers to ensure we exceed their expectations. What you need to succeed:Demonstrated ability to improve customer satisfaction

Open communication style to empower and engage all business levels, both internal and external.Strong strategic analytical and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to lead organizations through major capital investment projects

Team facilitation and problem-solving skills (Six Sigma certification a plus) Working knowledge of Safety, Quality and Waste improvement processes in packaging industry Proven success in both Sales and Operations positions in the corrugated packaging industry Four-year degree in Business Administration, Paper Science or another related field. (Advanced degree a plus). Extensive business experience may be considered.
