POSITION OBJECTIVE
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Establish and maintain effective employee working relations both within the department and with other departments.
Attend selected trade and travel functions for the given markets.
Analyze and review market changes with the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing and implement tactics to meet these changes, i.e. changes to the segments, national or competitive strategies.
Maintain close relationships with all key decision-makers both in local markets for the business travel segments.
Organize and accompany familiarization site inspection trips with key clients.
Regularly entertain new and prospective key clientele.
Maintain a high level of exposure for the hotel in the major marketing areas through direct sales solicitation, telephone, and written communications.
Ensure systems are up to date, ie: IVvy, Opera, PMS etc.
Conduct negotiations and finalize contracts and BT, consortia RFPs.
Explore new markets and potential local, regional, global accounts.
Work closely with the Area Sales Offices and RSOs ensure that measurable results targets are achieved.
Analyze and evaluate client production and implement sales action plans.
Provide feedback and market information to Regional Director of Sales and Marketing on changing market conditions, including trends on the competition, as a result of direct sales solicitation, telephone, reading material and interaction with competitive hotel staff.
Create and implement action plans for the business travel segments.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
At a minimum, must possess at least 1 year related sales experience and training or an associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and related sales experience
REQUIREMENTS
Requires effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
Most tasks are performed independently or in a team environment with the employee acting as team leader
Knowledge of luxury hotel competitive market
Strong leadership skills and ability to develop and motivate his/her teammates.
Enthusiastic personality.
Possess high degree of stamina, agility, and flexibility.
SKILLS
Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, clear verbal and written communication skills
Other skill sets include knowledge of Microsoft Office, iVvy Sales
Make business decisions based on reports and facts, as well as on experience and personal insight
Must have sufficient computer skills that allows the individual to be able to use, in a proficient manner, all Salamander Hotels & Resorts issued software programs including, but not limited to Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, iVvy Sales
