As a Business Trainee Student, you will embark on a dynamic learning journey within our organization, gaining hands-on experience and insights into various facets of the business world. This role is tailored for college students eager to kickstart their career journey in the realm of business, providing exposure to different teams within Daktronics, while fostering professional growth and development. Where is this opportunity located?

This position will be primarily based in a U.S. home office, with the ability to report to our Brookings, SD campus throughout the week. Daktronics offers the flexibility to work from a home office on days when there is not a need to be on campus.

Candidates must be enrolled as a student and registered in at least 12 credits. Preferred applicant should be available to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.

What is the pay and perks?

The typical hiring pay for this position is $13.50 to $14.25 per hour. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experience, geographic location, and applicable local legislation.

Students with GPA of 3.5 and above are eligible for a $500 bonus (Academic Excellence Reward) each semester completed while employed.

What will the work look like for me?

As a Business Trainee Student, you can expect to gain experience in the following areas:

Rotations look different for each student in terms of pathing through the different teams. Lengths in rotations can vary but we aim for 5-7 months in a team to gain the full experience.

Qualifications

Academic Requirements:

• The preferred candidate will be a student registered in at least 12 credits and currently enrolled in accredited bachelor's degree program in Business, Consumer Affairs, Economics, Entrepreneurial Studies, or related programs.

• The preferred candidate will be in their sophomore or junior year of school.

• Only strong academic performers will be considered. Must maintain an acceptable GPA, preference to 2.5 GPA or greater.

• Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered for this position.

Other Requirements:

• Applicants should be available to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

• Self-motivated, flexible, organized, and strong need to work as a team player. Attention to details is a must.

• Enthusiasm for learning and working on new projects and flexibility to ever-changing priorities and responsibilities.

• General computer skills including accurate keyboarding skills and ability to learn and navigate new software and tools.

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
