Job Summary

Job Summary

The Business Technology, Reports & Data Supervisor is responsible for managing a diverse group of professional employees who are responsible for the division's business technology and the administration's reports and data.

The incumbent in this position is recognized as the administration's and division's business technology, reports, and data expert and is responsible to:

  • Overseeing EDMS, call center, tracking, reporting, and other technology infrastructure (such as hardware and software acquisition and usage; database maintenance and development; and implementation of new technology) that is needed for the division to meets its roles, responsibilities, and goals.

  • Provide data, verbal and written analysis, and reports about MHCP and division populations and processing to a variety of stake holders, such as health care processing entities, DHS senior management; the legislature, and CMS, in order to facilitate decision making, risk assessments, and operational planning and processing.

  • Recommend measures for division employee performance standards and for division workload, productivity, process, and performance so that employee reviews are equitable, and division and administration leadership can make decisions based on performance or process measures.

  • Provide supervision to a group of professional employees who are responsible for business technology, reports, and data.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Supervisory or other leadership experience OR completion of leadership development program (L4, Emerging Leaders Institute, etc.)

AND

Four (4) years professional experience with program policy work within a Minnesota Health Care Program demonstrating the following:

  • Expertise compiling, interpreting, presenting of reports with large data sets to diverse audiences

  • Technical systems experience within a customer service contact center such as, Customer Relations Management software, Integrated Voice Response systems, or Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to research complicated issues and respond diplomatically to sensitive inquiries from individuals at different levels of authority.

  • Knowledge of public benefit programs or related experience.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.

The unit's client base includes over 200,000 MHCP enrolled health care providers, over one million MHCP members, Health Care Administration (HCA) staff, the contracted Managed Care Plans and various other stakeholders. This position supervises the unit's training staff and training operations. Primary responsibilities include: * Supervise and account for daily operations of the training team. * Oversee the work of professional level staff whose work entails complex analysis of technical issues and developed critical thinking skills. Provide a structure and strategies for developing staff so new staff have support and resources to build expertise and seasoned staff remain challenged and motivated. * Develop communication strategies with medical and health care service providers and provider industry groups to ensure positive relationships are built, useful tools are developed, communications are proactive and needs of individual customers are met. * Build and maintain communications agency-wide.
