Work you'll do

You'll work with clients across a broad spectrum of commercial clients and government (Federal, State and local) to propose, plan and deliver transformative technology projects. You will utilize your business-to-technology skills and communication skills to support our clients in achieving their strategic goals, by delivering on our key offerings, including strategic technology roadmap development, business process definition, enterprise architecture, program management, system implementation, testing and solution integration. As a trusted client advisor and team lead, you will also drive innovation by bringing your perspective on new and disruptive technologies (like IoT, Cloud, Analytics), which can transform our clients' business and yield significant competitive advantages.

Deloitte is specifically seeking candidates for its Life Sciences Technology Consulting practice. As part of this practice, you will serve Deloitte's life science and healthcare clients by providing strategic advice on how technology can support their business strategy and operational goals. Some example projects include:

  • Advising key R&D leadership on the appropriate business process, operating model and technology goals for R&D organizations to best support their overall strategy

  • Advising R&D organizations how to rationalize and harmonize their business processes and supporting technology

  • Assessing how and which technology solutions will best support the latest in scientific and business analytics

  • Supporting global implementation of business processes, operating model and technology solutions across all the countries that a company operates in

You will work side-by-side with R&D leadership within life science and healthcare companies to transform their organizations and help them achieve their scientific and business goals.

Required Qualifications

  • A technical background via an undergraduate degree or work experience

  • Enrollment in an Advance degree (MA, MS, Ph.D., MD, VMD, etc.) in Biotechnology, Biomedical Science or Engineering with a target graduation date between December 2019 and June 2020

  • A Bachelor's in the following or related area(s): Computer Science, Computer Information System, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Math, Accounting, Business, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Statistics, Supply Chain, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, or Industrial Engineering

  • Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.5)

  • Two to five years' experience, with one to two years' experience in roles that have used technology as a business enabler

  • Availability to participate in the Summer Scholar Program full-time for 10-weeks from June to August 2019

  • Ability to travel 80-100%

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in signal detection & management processes and truly understands the needs of industry and regulators. Our Principals/Partner/Directors serve as the project leaders and Managers work with them and other Consultants at all levels, often with exposure to clients' C-level executives, organizational leaders and team members. Managers will lead work streams of client projects and contribute to the overall engagement delivery. Project teams work onsite with the client team, typically necessitating travel three to four nights a week. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree from accredited university with strong undergraduate academic record 6+ years of professional experience in Life Sciences industry, a few years functioning as a Manager in a Consulting environment. Demonstrated consistent career progression with increasing levels of responsibility; performed above expectations in professional roles Ability to work independently; lead teams focused on specific work streams of large projects.
