MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Technology Advocate (BTA) is responsible for:

Trusted Technology Advocate

  • Understand each department's current technology portfolio and operational processes.

  • Leverages a strong knowledge of PDS' product landscape, solutions and works with the department to address any needs (proactively coordinates).

  • Acts as the "go-to" person; drives conversations with mid to large-sized departments that present the strategic relationship between technologies, products, and services compared with the business' overall business goals and objectives.

  • Own relationships that straddle across lines of business units and organizations

Technical Strategy Formulation (Solution Development)

  • Contributes to the creation and prioritization of trusted, long-term technical and business roadmaps for the department.

  • Works to align business and IT strategies, defines the organizations place in the digital footprint, embeds technology in business strategy and helps to design future possibilities for the business.

  • Drives envisioning and articulates business and program changes in the roadmaps around new and emerging capabilities in alignment with architectural roadmap.

  • Ensures there is alignment on current technology framework which meets business and architectural needs, continuously rationalizing our application inventory including identifying critical dependencies.

  • Work hand in hand with business leaders to submit their budget proposal according to the roadmap created.

  • Alignment with functional managers regarding resourcing needs for roadmap delivery.

Success Champion

  • Orchestrates implementation and monitoring of projects/programs in accordance with department's plan to develop solution offerings and value realization across a variety of solution areas.

  • Work with project leads to drive scope, timelines and tracks progress toward objectives.

  • Builds industry knowledge and establishes technical credibility with partners to drive the project agenda.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of technology sales, technology pre-sales and client service management

  • 3+ years of project management experience and/or healthcare experience.

  • 7+ years of technology management and support experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited university or college. In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience is preferred.

  • Proficiency with MS Office products including some or all the following Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio.

  • Proficiency with other project management and business process mapping tools/applications, including but not limited to, Jira and Smartsheet's.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years in Dental, managed healthcare, or retail industry experience

  • PMP Certification

  • Scrum Certification

  • Master's degree in Business, Technology or Healthcare

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Highly developed teambuilding, influencing, and collaboration skills.

  • Strong understanding of technology and application lifecycle.

  • Excellent skills in strategic planning, managing, influencing, creating successful outcomes, and working collaboratively.

  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, guide, and interact with all organizational levels, from hands-on user groups to stakeholders and executives, across both business and technology competencies without compromising core business values and objectives.

  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.

  • Ability to handle and maintain extreme confidentiality with departmental costs and legal contracts (internal and external).

  • Self-motivated, reliable, organized and detail-oriented individual capable of working independently as well as part of a team.

  • Ability to draw valid conclusions; apply sound judgment in making decisions and make decisions under pressure.

  • Provide guidance to department leaders by gathering and analyzing information skillfully.

  • An ability to inspire and motivate team members from both technical and non-technical background to drive the mission-critical priorities of the business.

  • An unwavering commitment to the success of the department, and willingness to provide constructive/ corrective action when needed to the business and IT teams.

  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and the creative development of solutions and strategies to solve PDS technology problems. Adapt to PDS frameworks and methodologies to solve pressing business challenges.
