DESCRIPTION

The Field Support Ancillary Lead Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring project success through leadership and coordination of project support activities. This multifaceted role involves meticulously creating and validating cutsheets for project data, conducting thorough preliminary site work including surveys and assessments, and providing expert technical support to project and ancillary technicians.

Additionally, the lead technician develops and delivers comprehensive training programs, oversees inventory coordination, and maintains a consistent on-site presence during project activities. Collaborating closely with project managers, the lead technician provides technical expertise, contributes to project planning, and ensures effective project coordination. This role requires extensive experience in networking protocols, excellent organizational and time management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and a willingness to work flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cutsheet Creation and Data Validation: Create and meticulously validate cutsheets for project data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.

  • Preliminary Project Site Work: Conduct thorough preliminary project site work, including site surveys, assessments, and preparation, to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Technician Training: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for technicians, covering field service procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation.

  • On-Site Presence: Maintain a consistent on-site presence during project activities, overseeing operations and addressing any issues that arise promptly.

  • Inventory Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Inventory Team to coordinate the timely delivery and pickup of equipment, ensuring availability and readiness for project needs.

  • Productivity Mentorship: Provide ongoing mentorship and guidance to technicians, identifying opportunities for productivity improvement and implementing strategies for enhancement.

  • Documentation Creation: Develop detailed documentation related to training materials, standard operating procedures, and best practices, ensuring clarity and consistency.

  • Technical Support: Offer expert technical support to project and ancillary technicians, troubleshooting complex issues and providing timely solutions.

  • Project Planning: Work closely with project managers to provide technical expertise, contribute to project planning efforts, and coordinate project activities effectively.

  • IP Request Management: Manage the request process for obtaining IPs for projects, ensuring timely acquisition and compliance with regulations.

  • Issue Remediation: Identify, troubleshoot, and remediate issues related to projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution.

  • Meetings: Facilitate Ancillary Team DES meetings and non-supervisor meetings in the absence of the supervisor, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Attend all meetings as assigned while actively participating and providing valuable insights. Contribute and present at training meetings, sharing expertise and contributing to the team's learning and development.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other IT groups to implement new processes, technologies, and solutions, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • On-Call Response: Participate in on-call response on a rotation basis, providing support and assistance outside of regular working hours as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training.

  • Thorough knowledge of desktop and business / technical support systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in field support or a related field (Project Management, etc.).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to lead and mentor a team effectively.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use complex functions, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.

  • Experience in a healthcare environment.

  • Working knowledge of IT Project Management techniques/processes utilizing Microsoft Project.

  • Certification in Microsoft Excel or related courses demonstrating advanced Excel skills.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $73,725 - $133,553 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $35.31 - $63.96

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
