Position Overview

The Business Systems Specialist is responsible for the administration, analysis and solution support activities contributing to the overall Jaggaer eProcurement system and SAP Concur. This position plays a key role in the overall procurement strategy by The University of North Texas System. The Systems eProcurement platform handles tens of millions of dollars in spend per year. This is an integral role that contributes to the effective use of the solution, assisting other business users to promote adoption, increase utilization, and driving additional value by taking advantage of complete system functionality, and supporting various UNT System departments with business process and solution related support activities.

Position is remote but will be headquartered in Denton, Texas. Hybrid options are also available.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years related experience in supporting business technology solutions; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher education experience State of Texas procurement experience

  • PeopleSoft experience

  • Three years' experience with source to pay software

  • Extensive backend user administrator experience with Jaggaer solution.

  • Extensive backend user administrator experience with SAP Concur solution

  • Contract manager certification (CTCM or CTCD).Jagger Platform Certification, CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager), CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), CPPB (Certified Professional Public Buyer) and/or CPPO (Certified Public Purchasing Officer)

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Job Duties:

  • eProcurement System Management Manage the eProcurement platform, UNT System Marketplace and other Procurement systems including SAP Concur. Use interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to present ideas concisely and to communicate effectively with various stakeholders and constituents within the University community. Provide cross functional liaison support among end users and IT/technical support teams, serving as an application expert. Provide support for the implementation and ongoing operations for the Jaggaer platform, including upgrades and enhancements. Analyze current business processes, identifying and offering continuous improvement opportunities for existing processes.

  • eProcurement Support Correspond with vendors and personnel at The University of North Texas System. Ensure that vendors are complying with all terms of contracts and that all goods and services are properly provided. Ensure that all agreements with vendors promote low prices, rebates, promote Historically Underutilized Business participation, and provide goods and services which meet The University of North Texas System institution needs. Track all sales and make recommendations to University as to how to maximize the use of UNT System Marketplace.

  • Relationship Management Work closely with UNT System institution personnel to promote eProcurement through UNT System Marketplace. Work with Information Technology departments and suppliers to troubleshoot systems issues as they arise. Manage feedback and quickly provide resolution for all questions or issues. Ensure commitments and deployment roadmap milestones are met. Ensure all users, approvals, and filters are set up in accordance with University standards and policies. Develop and coordinate in person and online training for all University users and provide useful communications to maximize the use of the UNT System Marketplace, including providing updates on changes in templates, downtimes for UNT System Marketplace.

  • Professional Knowledge and Development Maintain expertise and create goals for professional development. Review and resolve procurement issues, ensuring that departments comply with procurement laws, and helping to educate University employees about procurement, Historically Underutilized Business, purchase orders and contracts. Monitor and regularly report on the usage of UNT System Marketplace tools and develop and implement plans for improving tool usage. Participate in professional development activities and keep up to date on trends, best practices and technology associated with job function.

  • Identify, track and maintain business metrics across the Procurement department.

  • Create effective training programs, modules and user guides to manage processes within P2P.

  • Coordinate and Conduct User Acceptance Testing

  • Conduct end user training
