PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Business Systems Analyst provides dedicated support, design and ownership of a specified BU's technology infrastructure, including but not limited to the CRM, Apps or Add-ons, active integrations, data hygiene and future roadmap. The Analyst is responsible for identifying solutions to strengthen the BU's operational effectiveness and still adhere to BM's governance model and enterprise standards. This position is responsible for defining business needs and mapping them to solutions, through process improvement, training or technology solutions. Serves as an active participant in all phases of the project lifecycle to ensure BUs requirements are understood and the appropriate solutions are implemented, documented, and maintained. Serves as the lead for BU specific projects providing a medium to high level of technical expertise and business unit knowledge for GBS&T counterparts. May provide leadership and indirect supervision for project and production support activities of one or more BM associates.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Independently gathers, analyzes, and documents business issues, identify opportunities for enhancements, and implements needs based business solutions that are in alignment with enterprise standards and governance. Leads requirement design and testing for BU specific internal projects. Participates in requirements development and standardization, enterprise-wide CRM ecosystem. Projects assigned typically span weeks and/or months and will involve coordination with both BM and external business unit parties of various levels and roles. Business process and enhancement work may be complex in nature and typically relates to one or more of the department's core business, sales, or marketing initiatives.

Identifies and understands BM internal client support and training needs. Continually seeks to enhance their own understanding of client partner channels as well as provide client partner education on one or more of BM's technology platforms to elevate client satisfaction, build partner credibility, and optimize user adoption and delivery effectiveness. Cross trains and educates self on BM business processes and systems as well as collaborates with peers across the enterprise to leverage best practices, create efficiencies, and/or mitigate risk via people/process/technology.

Serves as subject matter expert and interface/point of contact for the BU and GBS&T for one or more technology and/or integrated systems/processes. May act as product owner for one or more Apps or support systems in the CRM Ecosystem. Communicates information and data on issues and concerns to various parties including team members, management, business groups and GBS&T/shared services stakeholders.

Develops expert knowledge of BM data and influencers. May partner with Data & Analytics team to directs activities of Analysts and Data Specialists with regard to ongoing and periodic audits, reviews and updates for select system data. Serves as a subject matter expert for a specific BUs data, business classifications, and the use of CRM data in BM reporting. Assists BM Data Specialist as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • College degree and 1 year of related work experience, or Associate degree and 3 years related work experience, or High School diploma/equivalent and 5 years related work experience

  • In-depth knowledge of several applications or technologies that support the sales process

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously through strong prioritization, and organization skills

  • Strong process orientation with a desire to solve business process challenges

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent customer services and interpersonal skills; position requires the ability maintain working relationships with and interaction with all levels of internal staff, cross-functional teams, and external customers while effectively servicing BM business

  • Experience with at least one software development lifecycle methodology (Waterfall, Agile, etc.)

  • Self-motivated and self-reliant. Must work well independently and take initiative to drive for results with assigned projects

  • Negotiation skills; the ability to tactfully re-align divergent points of view to arrive at a desired outcome

Preferred

  • College degree preferred

  • Prior experience with requirements engineering for CRM system, preferably Salesforce

  • Intermediate spreadsheet skills (Excel)

  • Prior experience in business process/reengineering role

  • Prior experience leading or playing a key contributor role in business or technology projects

At least 8 years of experience Ability to translate complex business problems into functional and technical specifications Experience documenting technical and functional specifications for data management applications Strong knowledge of relational databases and concepts Advanced SQL and Excel skills. Experience analyzing relational data using SQL and other tools Experience analyzing data in JSON and XML format Skills Preferred: Proven investment data subject matter expertise. Prior experience in the Asset Management industry (especially institutional / intermediary channels) preferred. Knowledge of financial data and metrics (asset allocation, diversification, attribution, performance calculations, etc.) preferred. Capable of handling complex data mapping assignments. Experience with data quality management tools and practices.
