Summary Statement: Applies expert and specialized knowledge to lead the definition of new systems and re-engineering of business processes enabling increased business efficiency and profitable growth.
Identify new systems opportunities, develop and sell the business case for change, define new system and process requirements, and manage solution delivery. Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Develops design and analytical solutions to complex or unusual problems or assignments requiring considerable ingenuity and innovation to develop or study design proposals and specifications to define new systems and the re-engineering of business processes enabling increased business efficiency and profitable growth.
Develops effective working relationships with both the business community and the IT organization and a complete understanding of current business processes and industry best practices. Provides the primary liaison between the management and Information Technology for identifying solutions and ensuring timely delivery. Provides leadership in working through the business community to assess current business processes against industry best practices and identifies new business models improving business efficiency or enabling profitable growth.
Leads management through strategic thinking pertaining to business process improvement and through significant business process and technology change. Develops and analyzes the business case around proposed new systems and process opportunities. Develops a financial cost and benefit analysis of systems opportunities and in business cases preparation to support strategic change and work with the finance department to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Leads the presentation and selling of the business case to business executives to obtain sponsorship and funding. Defines process maps and performs gap analysis. Documents process and system requirements and acts as liaison between the business community and Information Technology solutions teams to ensure delivered solutions meet business requirements and expectations.
Serves as project manager over the delivery of complex business process re-engineering and systems solutions into the business community. Ensures the implementation projects are on time and on budget and business needs and expectations are met. Ensures the business community is effectively trained enabling full value from systems investment.
Ancillary Job Functions and Responsibilities:
This position may provide administrative and technical leadership over other Stakeholders in the department. Performs other duties as required.
These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST SPECIALIST Formal Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience:
Experience may be substituted for the formal education and training requirements in this section at the discretion of management. Bachelor level degree in a Business or Technical discipline from an accredited college or university and ten (10) or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience must include five (5) years experience in business/systems analysis working with multi divisional business communities and executives to assess current business processes against industry best practices.
Experience leading business communities through strategic thinking pertaining to business process improvement and through significant business process and technology change. Experience working on data warehouse and business intelligence projects preferred and experience in aerospace maintenance and repair operations is strongly desired. A graduate degree is preferred.
Level of Supervision Required: Works under general direction. Receives guidance as to results expected and to resolve complex problems.
Exercises latitude in determining activities and approaches within moderate to wide parameters. Communication and Special Skills:
Communicate effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms.
Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to develop and deliver executive level presentations. Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Exceptional interpersonal and team building skill, business acumen, project management skill, the ability to probe and analyze data to determine core business needs, ability to transform that data into new business processes, and the skill to present and prove a case for business acceptance.
Solid analytical, problem identification, and resolution skills. Strong working knowledge of Rational Rose, Microsoft Project or Primavera, Visio, and Excel. Working knowledge of ERP systems implementation in a manufacturing or maintenance and repair operation and a working knowledge of web enabled applications utilizing J2EE or a Microsoft architecture is a plus.

Must be able to travel between facilities and operate standard office equipment. Work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week as required. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
